Real Madrid

Rivaldo asks Real Madrid to sign a specific player by name: “It will be good for him and for football”

Rivaldo is from another era, that’s for sure. The former player represented an era in football, especially during his years as a Barcelona player.

And although after leaving Barcelona he went to clubs such as Milan, Olympiacos and AEK Athens, he does not understand the new trend in this sport of great players going to play in Saudi Arabia.

The Brazilian spoke clearly about the transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo to the Saudi club Al-Nasr. As well as about Messi and the latest events that occurred between the Argentine player and Paris Saint-Germain.

And the Brazilian star said about the Messi and Paris Saint-Germain crisis: “I was a little saddened to see Lionel Messi take this kind of behavior, disrespect towards his current club, which is unusual in his career, which has always been characterized by discipline.”

He added: “He certainly could have done it differently. He had alternatives – to talk to the club and wait for the Saudi leaders to arrive in Paris or even wait for the end of the season – to reach an understanding with PSG without causing this internal problem.

And when asked about the moment in which Cristiano Ronaldo is living, Rivaldo was not shy: “I understand that sometimes players are deceived by the big contract they sign in Saudi Arabia, but then life there is more closed and football is not always as easy as expected.”

He continued, “Therefore, you may go through a stage of disappointment and even reflection. If the money you get makes up for the unhappy life you are living now.”

On Cristiano Ronaldo, he continued: “It happens to all players and Messi himself will soon be able to experience the same thing. It would be good for him and for football to return Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid to finish his career.”

And he concluded: “Of course, the fans must understand that they cannot ask him for the same thing that he did when he was 25 or 26 years old, but he can still help the club with more titles.”
